Anniversary getaway

Nathan and I were able to get away this weekend and celebrate our anniversary at the Hyatt Lost Pines resort near Bastrop! We had a wonderful time just the two of us. We were able to spend all day Saturday at the adults-only pool which was a treat and eat dinner at 8pm! There was no rushing through meals or having to be back at the room for naptime. The hotel was wonderful and the entire time I thought about how much Ellery would enjoy being there. It was very kid friendly. Hopefully we can take her back one day!

Thanks to Lulu and Poppy for keeping her this weekend. I know she was having as much fun as we were! This is a picture my mom sent me...her first time in floaties!

Bahama mama

We had a fabulous time in the Bahamas. From my pictures, however, it looks like Nathan and Ellery were the only ones on the trip!!
We were busy everyday, hopping from one pool to the next and at the beach. Ellery was even able to swim with the dolphins. Here is a picture of daddy/daughter before the dolphin encounter, all suited up.

Oh and we had a celebrity sighting! Paige, Nathan, and I were walking to dinner one night and we passed right by Julia Roberts and her three children, along with two body guards. We had heard she was staying at the resort but didn't think we would actually run into her. Fun!
We are ready to go back!

29!!

I am 29 today!! One more year of living it up in my 20's. I hear the 30's aren't all that bad so I am not too concerned! I have been showered with love by my sweet family. Poor Nathan gets hit with Mother's day, birthday, and anniversary all within 3 weeks. He picked out some VERY nice jewelry for Mother's Day and then some cute little bracelets I had my eye on for my birthday. He is always so thoughtful about gifts. When I was pregnant with Ellery he purchased a ring that to him symbolized our daughter-to-be. And he did the same thing this time around with our new little guy. He stayed home this morning for a little while to fix us breakfast and is taking me out tonight. Ellery and I had lunch with my mom and have been running errands to get ready for our big trip to the BAHAMAS!! Ellery has been excited about this trip for weeks. She knows everyone who is going with us and says "beach" all the time. She is my outdoor girl and is sure to LOVE the sand and water. She also really loves flying, much like her mama.
The Lord is teaching me lately that HE is in control. I can worry and be anxious but it accomplishes nothing. This is not new to me, but one of my life lessons that keeps showing up. You think I would have learned by now, but that is the great thing...He is patient and loving and doesn't give up on hard-headed people. I am thankful for another year and look forward to what's ahead!

Mommy and baby giraffe

We spent the morning at the zoo!! This video is really not much - I was trying out a few things. First, I received a Flip Video camera from my in-laws for my birthday. I can always count on Bebe to keep me updated on all of the new gadgets. It is so cool - so compact and uploads right onto your computer. I love it - and will carry it with me in my purse always. And second, I had never done anything on You Tube. So this was a big experiment and it worked - so hopefully you will be seeing more videos from us!

No, we sure don't

...have a name for our baby boy yet, that is. I think everyone thinks we are keeping it a big secret but believe me, if we did have one, I would let you know. So if you have any great ideas, we would love to hear them!

Ellery has a new cousin (or 2nd or 3rd, not sure how that works). My cousin Jeana had a baby girl on May 5th. Her name is Harper Lawrence Best. I cannot wait to see pictures and meet the new addition!! Congratulations Jeana and Josh!!
