The past two weeks

Let me see if I can remember some of the events of the past two weeks.

- Price is an official roller-over. Seems a little early, but then again I did almost drop him at the hospital when he decided to throw his head back with great force. I sometimes refer to him as Mr. Bobble-head because he never holds his head still. He doesn't like being in an upright position and so makes that crystal clear by swinging his head to the side.

- Ellery has spent more time than usual in time-out these days. Seems "no" is her favorite word and obeying is a foreign concept. Don't get me wrong though she can be as sweet as sugar (she will tell you she is as sweet as sugar) too.

- Ellery is an official swim school drop-out. Nathan had been dragging her to swim lessons and decided he had enough. Ellery was not okay with the new teacher who Nathan did say was a little crazy. We really just wanted her to have some fun and learn a little about swimming, not be able to dive for rings.

- We went to Austin again for another football game but then let Nathan go by himself to the one this past Saturday. I was able to watch most of the game at home minus the 30 minutes I let Ellery watch Yo Gabba Gabba for the sake of my sanity. What is up with that show??

- Went to the movies with some girlfriends to see Nights in Rodanthe. Got a good cry in. Why do we do that to ourselves? I am more of a happy-ending kind of girl.

Seriously that is all I can recall that is worth mentioning. I think my brain must be in a fog, but hopefully I will be back to my blogging-self in no time.

Oh, we have experimented with some fun hair styles lately in our (mainly mom's) boredom:

Talking to Jesus

I can't believe I haven't blogged in over a week! I will hopefully have time to update soon but didn't want to forget what Ellery told me yesterday morning when I went to get her from her bed. She had her little hands folded in prayer and was mumbling something. As I moved closer, she said sweetly, "Go away, I am talking to Jesus!" Precious!

The people brought children to Jesus, hoping he might touch them. The disciples shooed them off. But Jesus was irate and let them know it: "Don't push these children away. Don't ever get between them and me. These children are at the very center of life in the kingdom. Mark this: Unless you accept God's kingdom in the simplicity of a child, you'll never get in." Then, gathering the children up in his arms, he laid his hands of blessing on them. Mark 10:13-16

Jesus is King!

That is what Ellery told us last night as we put her to bed. Love that girl!

This past weekend Nathan went to the Texas/OU game in Dallas and so Ellery, Price, and I spent most of our time with Lulu and Poppy. Aunt Paige was in town which made it extra fun! Ellery spent the night at their house both nights and was a big girl sleeping on the exciting bed Poppy made for her (a mattress on the floor). Lulu, Paige, and I spent Friday night dancing with Ellery and doing the Choo-choo poopy dance. We succeeded in our efforts to get her to poop and as an extra bonus got a little workout in ourselves. Yes, she is still having issues!
Price is growing so fast and little rolls are now evident all over his arms and legs. I love it! He slept his longest stretch ever last night - going to bed at 9:30pm and sleeping until about 3am! I am hoping he will repeat this again tonight. Other exciting and unbelievable news is that he rolled over today! We put him on his mat for tummy time this evening and all watched as he gained momentum by rocking and then rolled to his back. We tried to see if he would do it a second time but no such luck. What a strong boy!

This picture makes me laugh - big eyes!

Fashion queen

Taking after her Lulu and Aunt Paige in her Uggs -she picked this outfit out herself because it was just a tad-bit cooler this morning (we are talking 80 degrees). E calls this her donut shirt. As she asked to wear it today, I was laughing to myself that only a 2 year old would want to sport a shirt with donuts plastered all over it!

Saturday we visited a pumpkin patch with a couple of friends. The girls had fun posing for pictures and throwing the pumpkins! We came home with a pumpkin for the front door and two baby pumpkins that Ellery picked out for herself and Price. Price made his first appearance at church on Sunday and did wonderful. It was great to be out and about!
