Sprinkles and water hoses

We have been having lots of fun in the water this week. On Sunday night, we decided to break out the sprinkler. Ellery was cautious at first, but after the neighborhood kids joined in, she became much braver. The next day she asked to play in the "sprinkles" again!

Tonight I was cleaning out our ice chest with the water hose and Ellery was watching. I sprayed her feet and accidentally got a little bit of her dress wet. At first she didn't know what to think and seemed a little worried that she was "messy". I assured her it was fine and in no time, she was down to a diaper drinking from the water hose. I decided to just give her a bath outside...very classy, I know.

Getting her to come inside and get ready for bed resulted in a major meltdown, which came close to making me regret the whole fun experience. But I am realizing these days that mommy and Ellery time is precious and going to be rare come August. I hope I can take advantage of these two months with my little girl!

30 weeks and craving aisle 3

30 weeks!! I could have as little as 8 weeks to go or as many as 10. I cannot believe how this pregnancy has flown by...and we can't wait to meet our little guy. There is still so much to be done before his arrival, and I am definitely feeling more unprepared than I was when I was this far along with Ellery. I think he has two sleepers in the closet!
And yes, I am craving what I think is aisle 3 at Kroger's....that would be the cereal aisle. It happens to also be the diaper aisle. I made a trip there last night because we had zero diapers in the house and I spent a little extra time eyeing all of the yummy, sugary cereals. What would it be...Captain Crunch, Lucky Charms, Cinnamon Toast Crunch? I wanted something that would take me back to being a kid, except did you know that most of the cereals are now made with whole grain? That is what I used to justify the fact that I had picked up all 3 cereals and was ready to head to the checkout. I came to my senses (and the realization that our pantry is TINY) and only allowed myself one...and the winner was Lucky Charms. Don't be fooled though...I will be back for more the minute this box is finished.

2 minutes old!

That is how old Ellery will tell you that she is! 2 minutes!
She really won't be two until next Saturday but we did the majority of our celebrating today. She had her birthday party at Pump it Up along with Madi Kate, who turned 2 last week. All of her friends (and ours) and family came to celebrate and I don't think she could have experienced a better time! She even blew out her candle after everyone sang Happy Birthday to her. What a difference a year makes - she had barely started walking and had no clue what was going on at last years festivities. This year, Ellery has been singing Happy Birthday the entire week in anticipation of today.
We did a cute cupcake theme for their party this year. I think Tiffany and I made 62 cupcakes last night and I only came home with about 8! We also made these adorable party favors that I had seen online.

Madi Kate, Avery, and Ellery

Lots of friends!

Party favors for the girls. The boys had the same but in more man-ly colors!

Yummy cupcakes!

After a long nap and after opening gifts, we said goodbye to Bebe and Pops and headed to the Astros game. Ellery seemed to really enjoy it - but maybe it was the nutritious dinner of fries and icecream!

And as if the day couldn't have gotten any better, Ellery used her big girl potty when we got home from the game! I guess she turned 2 minutes old and decided it was time to be a big girl. It was a big day in our house!!

Anniversary getaway

Nathan and I were able to get away this weekend and celebrate our anniversary at the Hyatt Lost Pines resort near Bastrop! We had a wonderful time just the two of us. We were able to spend all day Saturday at the adults-only pool which was a treat and eat dinner at 8pm! There was no rushing through meals or having to be back at the room for naptime. The hotel was wonderful and the entire time I thought about how much Ellery would enjoy being there. It was very kid friendly. Hopefully we can take her back one day!

Thanks to Lulu and Poppy for keeping her this weekend. I know she was having as much fun as we were! This is a picture my mom sent me...her first time in floaties!
